Top Tips from PRG

Before the Interview

• Ensure that you know where the company is, when the interview is and who will be holding the interview
• Before attending any interview, know your CV inside out
• Research the company and the industry. Use the company's own website (if they have one), and a news website to research recent developments in the industry
• Prepare some questions to ask, but keep them brief - e.g. what are the main objectives relating to this role? and what sort of timescale should they be achieved in?

At the Interview

• Dress smartly and professionally - first impressions count!
• Relax and be yourself
• Be honest
• Think about your strengths and be positive during the interview
• Try to maintain eye contact with the interviewer
• Do not speak badly of your current company or employer, even if urged to do so
• Thank the interviewer for taking the time to see you; express that you have enjoyed meeting them and how keen you are to start the role
  

After the Interview

• Reflect on the interview - how could you improve your technique for next time?
• If you are unsuccessful on this occasion think positively, with every interview you will learn a new technique
